| Montane was established in the north east of England in 1993 by Chris Roff and Jake Doxat, who met on a three month Operation Raleigh expedition to southern Chile in 1989 during which time they explored a completely uncharted section of the Pengal Valley with a team of 11 in 4 Canadian Canoes.
These days Montane is, by design, not the biggest outdoor clothing brand, but it is certainly one of the most specialist, being at the forefront of innovative, lightweight design and the use of the most technologically advanced fabrics.

The North Star was designed with no comprimise on quality and functionality in mind. With 200g (size medium) of highest quality Ukrainian goose down at 93/7, encased in a highly water resistant and windproof shell its built for versatility in that its light enough and warm enough to be used in a multitude of situations, and functionality due to its considered features. Neat tailored baffle design allowing the effecient trapping of body heat, climbing helmet hood and generous body length for comfort. Wear it year round in the mountains and on winter endevours.

Featuring layered 60g and 40g Primaloft constructed in such way to maximise insulation without compromising comfort the Flux was concieved to be more than a simple belay jacket. Super packable and encased in Pertex Microlight, windproof and exceptionally fast drying. Tested on the bigwalls of Patagonia's Fitzroy in some of the most changeable weather conditions on earth |
